Bushnell Laser Boresighter

|

Bushnell Laser Boresighter Review. Its bright, battery-powered laser makes rapid, ultra-precise work of boresighting. Created to meet the demands of gunsmiths and serious shooters, it includes arbors for .22- through .50-caliber firearms...

"Has some issues, but easy to correct" 2008-04-26
By Sheldon (Aspen, CO United States)

I gave this 5 stars because I figured out how to resolve the problems associated with it. First, the on/off switch is horrible. The sight uses small batteries that fit into a tube and are held in place by a pointed contact and a spring. When you turn the knob to off it pulls the batteries away from the contact (feels firm). When the unit is on the knob allows the contact to connect and the knob feels loose.

The whole unit easily pries out with a small screwdriver and one can clean the contacts and lengthen the spring a bit. This will take the vagueness out of the switch and stop the laser from being intermittent.

Also, don't use an adaptor that fits exactly. Use a size smaller and adjust it until it fits the bore properly. That means tight enough to center but not so tight it gets stuck in there. If you find the exact size without having to adjust it and you force it in the barrel it may get stuck. It also takes a bit of effort to put the adjusting screws in the adaptors (one screw for each adaptor). Once in they will stay put with the adaptor.

Finally, while this is a red laser you do not have to bore sight your gun or rifle indoors or at night. It will reflect back in broad daylight against anything that's reflective, like a traffic sign. The neighbors may think you're nuts but it works great.

Once you overcome the funky switch, it works great. Just remember you will have to go out to the range to do your final adjustments. No boresight is perfect. They just get you close.

"Great Product for the Price! All of you Negative People Please Read." 2010-05-29
By wheezer (New York)

Let's start out by reminding everyone that this is $25 and not $300. Try to remember this. I've read most of the negative reviews, which prompted me to write this one. Yes, I own and have used this product many times. Bushnell had to find a way to manufacture this product cheaply so that they could offer it to you at this price. Do you all still remember, it's $25. OK, don't look at the front and say it's misaligned because the laser lens isn't centered in the opening of the housing. Doesn't mean a thing. Don't say the arbors fit loosely in the bore because they are expandable. That means you take the one that most closely matches the diameter of the bore, screw it onto the end of the bore sighter until it makes contact with the taper, and then continue to turn it down with the Allen wrench so that it begins to expand. Keep checking the amount of expansion until it fits your bore. And for gods sake, don't spin it in your drill to check calibration. You can't do that. You are assuming the housing is PERFECTLY machined. It isn't. The stem is thin and not perfectly straight. The factory calibration takes place between the TWO tapers in the housing. This eliminates any misalignment in the thin shaft. Clamping on the stem doesn't compensate for this error, not to mention that if you accidentally spin it fast enough you will do irreparable damage to the housing. DON'T DO IT! These bore sighters are designed to get you on paper, not dead on. And that's exactly what they do. The fine tuning is up to you. Yes, the switch is cheap, so operate it gently. The laser isn't bright enough for daylight, so use it in dimmer conditions. The dot on some may not be a sharp red circle, hey, it's $25. Are all you complainers trying to get over on Bushnell? Lets try to apply a little common sense here. And let me not forget to say that I am aware that there is a small percentage of defective products that get out into the publics' hands, and that's with everything. But in this case it appears that most of the negative comments are from people that don't understand how to use the product or not qualified to evaluate it. A few do make some good points, very few. So, before commenting, you should sight your weapon in with the product, after being absolutely certain how to use it correctly. Oh, and let me remind you, it's not perfect, it's $25.

 "Bore sighter on target" 2009-10-28
By George Anast (Tucson, AZ United States)

I purchased this device to bore sight a shotgun. The directions are concise and the gadget performs perfectly. It did the job on the 12Ga shotgun in a matter of minutes. I tried it our on a .270 and again, it was right on. This is well designed product which should give years of service, but the parts and attachments are small and have to be carefully handled and stored in the velcro case supplied.

 "Nice sighter" 2009-10-15
By Anthony Montalvo (Florida panhandle)

Works great easy to use very accurate. Best of all does every caliber you may have plus it does shotguns. Worked with my 9mm, 40cal, 25cal, .308 and 20ga shotgun. Thumbs up!

"Great item for the price" 2009-10-23
By L. Flewelling (MN)

I didn't have any of the issues mentioned. Switch worked great and smooth and it was dead on right out of the box. Do recommend spinning it in your drill to make sure it is correct. For the $24 total price it is an awesome product.

Wenzel Insta-Bed Queen Raised Sure Grip Bottom with Built-in Pump

Wenzel Insta-Bed Queen Raised Sure Grip Bottom with Built-in Pump Review. Wenzel is a division of American Recreation Products. Items are manufactured by American Recreation Products....

 "No-nonsense air mattress w/ thoughtful features" 2008-01-19
By W. E. Chase (San Diego)

This bed is a step above the Aerobed. Unlike my previous 2 aerobeds, this mattress doesn't leak. None at all over an 8 day period of guests. Not even a slow leak. None! Pump is quick and the power deflate is a real time and space saver. Flocking on the mattress is also warmer than a cold plastic top. Can't believe how much less in price this was over the aerobeds-- a no-brainer!!!

 "Air bed." 2008-01-14
By rAma (Dayton, OH)

Found this to be an excellent bed, pros are longer air retention (I sleep at least 5 days before needing to turn on the pump), uniform pressure distribution. I normally do not have any back problems and this bed did not introduce any new ones after about a couple of months of regular usage. Our guests loved it, the only con I can see is that the pump is so slow - takes a minimum of 4 minutes to fill the bed from flat and takes similar time to deflate. That is negligible compared with the pros, we recommend this product to anyone that is interested in an Air bed.

 "Absolutely incredible" 2008-01-02
By Sharyn Criswell (Atlanta, Ga.)

We wanted to get an air mattress for guests we were expecting. We have purchased them before and they were very disappointing. They were either uncomfortable or they wouldn't hold air for very long. Any amount of movement when lying on them, didn't help.

We decided to try Amazon.com. After reviewing the different air mattresses that they showed and discribed, we read the reviews that were given on those products. We decided on the Wenzel Insta-bed and we feel we absolutely made the right choice. It was easy to set up and take down. It's very very comfortable. Our guests enjoyed it so much, they wanted to pack it up and take it home with them. They said they were as comfortable as they are in their bed at home and slept great!

We are very pleased with our purchase and we recommend this product to everyone!

Thank you!!!!!!!

 "Whew! What a relief!" 2008-09-21
By Randi R. Creighton (Tuscaloosa, AL, USA)

My daughter and I were moving and sold all our furniture before leaving. Our plan was to find a bed for each of us we could use indefinately... or until we were able to get our 'perfect bedroom suite'. These beds have been great and we have been sleeping on them for a month now. We have a 65 lb dog that runs and jumps on them and we've had absolutely NO problems with leaking or tearing. We got the matress cover recommended at purchase which helps protect it, I'm sure. We also got king size sheets w/ deep pockets for the queen size air bed because the fitted sheet stays on perfect in the larger size. Fantastic! and the built in pump works great for inflating or deflating. Absolutely love this bed!

 "Better than expected" 2008-03-11
By D. Loux (NC)

I read reviews before making this purchase. I wanted to get it because it met all the things I wanted, and was willing to put up with slow inflation and deflation to get them. Well, I don't know why someone thinks it is slow unless they have only a couple of minutes to accomplish the task. We find the inflation/deflation times acceptable. It is a comfortable bed and looks good. We have not yet used it for guests but laying on it feels very nice. We got it for overflow situations so it will be used only on those occasions and I think it will be perfect. Our family has lots of arthritis and the height makes it quite good for getting into and out of bed.

Omron HJ-303 GoSmart Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer

Omron HJ-303 GoSmart Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer Review. Premium Advanced Pocket Pedometer w/ GoSmart Tri-Axis Technology...

 "Omron hj 303 rocks!" 2008-11-24
By Terrance B. Shaw (california)

I have both the omron 720it (computer downloadable) and hj 112...both are extremely accurate and easy to use...this revision of the pedometer concept is terrific...small but large numbers...easy to set and use...it really does work in any position...the display blanks out to save power so it is inconvenient to constantly be looking at it...still not much of a problem...i checked it against my other omrons and it's within 0.7%...it keeps better track of aerobic activity than the others (they only record after 10 min of activity...the hj 303 after 4 seconds)...overall, the size (small) and accuracy and ease of use make this pedometer an outstanding device for walking or running.

 "Easy to Use" 2009-05-05
By J. Edgar (San Diego, CA USA)

This pocket pedometer is smooth & slim and easily fits in a pocket for use. The leash has a good clasp and using it makes me comfortable that the pedometer isn't going to slip out of my pocket. It also has an adjustable clip, to use on a waist band or belt.

Tracks moderate pace walking in addition to the overall steps for the day. I never need to reset it, unless I want to track the overall total for a specified event (the TRIP function). It doesn't lose the data for the week, and the counter starts fresh after midnight each day.

 "Great reinforcement for walking!" 2009-04-19
By C. Wells (Arizona, USA)

I really like this little pedometer. I've had so many pedometers you would think I collect them (hmmmm...maybe I do now!) This one is easy to set. It has a removable beltclip that is easy to install and holds comfortably on my waistband. With other pedometers I've had problems with them popping off if I bend over or sit down. This one is small so doesn't get that same upwards pressure on it when I move that way. It is easy to slip in a front pants pocket and small enough to work well in a shirt pocket as well (although I haven't used it that way). I haven't tried it in my purse, but I suspect it would work that way as well since it handles being carried in my pocket just fine and I've also tried carrying it in my hand to test the accuracy there. I think I've bought my last pedometer...I love this one. I really like being able to see just how many steps I've taken and that it encourages me to keep moving toward my 10,000 steps a day. And, it's small and light enough that I often forget I'm even wearing it!

"HJ-303 It all came out in the wash" 2009-09-04
By S. Brown (Albuquerque)

I bought the HJ-303 from Amazon in June, 2009. I've logged over 300000 steps with it since then. Today, I pulled my shorts from the washer and found the HJ-303 diligently clipped to the pocket. It had gone through the heavy duty cycle in my Whirlpool Duet front loader! It logged 304 moderate steps in there. That's somewhat interesting but, what's even more interesting is that it came out of the washer squeaky clean and ready for my next walk!

I'm very satisfied with this pedometer. I've compared it to the odometer on my car and with other manual pedometers that I own and it is very consistent. Now that it has survived the punish-er, I'm really happy with it. I'm just pleased that I caught it before it went to the dryer. Somehow though, I think it would have been just fine in there too.

I recommend this pedometer.

 "Works Great" 2009-08-09
By n8t (Bay Area, CA)

This pedometer works great for my casual use, while I can see where it may not meet everyone's specialized needs. I field tested this during a week at Disneyworld where it was fun to see how miles and calories were burned after a week of intense walking. 33 miles, go figure!

Positives: Slim design makes it a no-brainer for throwing in your pocket or bag so I'm more apt to take it with me; very transparent to just have on you. It works in any position, so again, transparent to use. I also don't care about lap timing, so if your only concern is about daily results, the automatic reset at 12am is nice. There is a "trip" feature if you want it, though. I was a little confused by one reviewer who said it "shuts off" but that's not entirely true--just the display times out. This thing works as long as you're moving, which is fine for me (save batteries), as I don't care to micromanage my hourly progress, personally. Just click a button to bring up the display again.

Cons: Again, for my purposes, not many, so check the other reviewers. Biggest pain was cutting through the blister packaging. I hate that stuff with a passion; dangerous with a knife or scissors to open. It would also be nice to have downloading of stats to software like Omron's high-end device, but it only takes a few seconds to put my daily results in a spreadsheet once every few days (7-day history is stored).

Bottom line: If you want a device that is accurate and small enough where you can just throw it in a pocket and forget about it, this is for you. The nice design and simple, versatile operation means I'm carrying it every day. High accuracy, nice usability, and low-hassle take-anywhere design make this perfect.

Schwinn Thrasher Adult Micro Bicycle Helmet (Adult)

Schwinn Thrasher Adult Micro Bicycle Helmet (Adult) Review. Note: if you are shipping this item to Connecticut, sales tax on the related shipping and handling charges will be refunded to your credit card....

"The ER Doctor said "This Helmet Saved Your Life"." 2010-04-10
By Dianne Zielbauer (Buchanan, MI United States)

I am writing this review based up on my real life experience on 3/14/10. My husband is a lifelong cyclist. Together we have worn bike helmets our entire adult lives. Friends joked about how we looked wearing our helmets in the past. They don't joke anymore. My husband was riding solo at about 18-20 MPH and became startled by an unleashed dog that appeared out of nowhere. Expecting to be nipped at the heel, the dog instead crashed into the front bicycle wheel, sending him over the handlebars onto a paved street. His 1 year old Schwinn Thrasher helmet took the fist impact, destroying itself in order to save his skull and brain. Reconstructive orthopedic surgery was required for his shattered left collarbone. He is still healing - but he is able share his experience with others today. I spent a mere $20 bucks at a discount store. The Schwinn Thrasher helmet saved my husband's life. Thank you Schwinn.

 "Does the job" 2009-08-05
By JEM (GA)

While this helmet is not the fanciest around, it does do the job it is supposed to. I use this riding my bike early in the morning and so far so good. I have a large head, so finding a helmet to fit me is rather difficult. This one has an adjustable strap in the back that can fit a large range of heads (mine is adjusted to the largest size). I looked at helmets that were around $80 before finding this one, and I am glad that I chose the Schwinn Thrasher.

Happy Riding!

 "Great Helmet" 2009-11-12
By L. Carlson (Long Beach, CA)

OK. Let's just all agree that bicycle helmets are ugly and that it's likely that you'll feel ridiculous wearing one. Get over it! These days with increasing numbers of distracted drivers, you'd be crazy not to wear a helmet. That being said, the Schwinn Thrasher Helmet is a great choice. It is comfortable, adjustable and was even able to fit my giant head. It is sculpted to allow ample air flow to keep your head cool and the basic black/charcoal design keeps the look simple and clean. I don't find the plastic visor to be of much use, but it can detached if necessary.

As a bonus, it is a "Best Buy" from Consumer Reports.

If you ride a bike don't expect a baseball cap to protect you. You need a helmet and the Schwinn Thrasher Helmet is a good choice at a great price.

"Awesome Value, Check out my Video Review" 2010-08-04
By S. Gargolinski (Boston)

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R2DCO1U9Y1UFUF This helmet is a fantastic value for the money. Don't let the name "Micro" fool you, it's a big value and fits heads of all sizes! Check out my video review for more details.

"Can't be beat for the price!!!" 2010-04-22
By dredman1 (Trinidad & Tobago)

I bought my bike at a time when I wanted to start getting out and exercising more. Being on a very limited budget, I sprang for the very best bike I could at the time (maybe even over-extended my budget just a bit). This left me with very little $$ left for accessories, and as everyone will tell you, a helmet is the most important thing you need when you go riding.

This helmet is not flashy and doesn't have any big exclusive brand name, but it's a quality piece from a reputable company. It fits well and offers adjustments for various size heads. I also personally like the color and carbon fiber finish.

About the only benefit of buying those other helmets that cost upwards of 2 or 3 times the $20 cost of this one is that they may look better and may be slightly smaller. But that's about it - this helmet is comfy, adjustable, and has all the safety certification included with it. Even the absorbent cushioning pads that line the inside of the helmet are attached with velcro for easy removal/washing.

If you're really strapped for cash and need a quality helmet, I'd highly recommend this one. I don't regret buying mines, and even though I've recovered from the initial outlay of my bike purchase and am now able to spring for a more expensive helmet, I still use this one and don't regret buying it.

 "Love this little machine..." 2008-04-04
By Betty A. Ludwig (Michigan)

I had mixed feelings about purchasing this because of its size and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get a good cardio on it. Boy was I wrong. When I workout on this my heart rate ranges from 145-160 which is exactly where I want it to be. It's very sturdy but does take a little getting used to as far as balancing on it but you can get a great workout from it. The strides are much smaller than what you find in a gym but that's expected. I think it's a very effective piece of equipment for the price.

"Wonderful product, easy to stay motivated!" 2008-08-30
By J. Degan (Lemoore, CA United States)

I bought this mini-elliptical after reading all the reviews on this and other similar products. I bought this item for three main reasons:

1 - Low price

2 - Small size

3 - Portability

I like the elliptical movement because I have bad ankles, and treadmills and steppers hurt me after a short time working out. I don't have room for a full-size elliptical machine in my house, and this turned out to be the perfect size. Plus, it's small size made it easy to move around the house to be where I wanted to use it. I like to work out while watching TV to keep my mind elsewhere and work out longer, and I can pull this machine (about 25lbs) in front of the TV in the living room to watch TV with family (yes, they laugh at me, but it's worth it), and then pull in front of my bed in the bedroom to watch a chick flick that no one else wants to watch. I even put my elliptical in front of my computer to watch Netflix movies online! It's easy to carry around.

Another great thing is that, because it's small, it is MUCH cheaper than a regular elliptical machine so, even it it only lasts a year or two, I can buy another one and still have not even come close to half the money I would have spent on a regular machine.

Sure, it doesn't have the arm movement, but I find that no handles makes me work my core by staying balanced (really not very difficult, haven't ever fallen in the 2 months I've had it), and I can even carry small weights to really work my arms while I'm doing the cardio workout of the elliptical.

I like the computer that tells you how long you've worked out, how many steps you've taken, and how many calories you've burned. Simple and straightforward. Another great feature: it's incredibly quiet to use!

The best thing about this is that it is easy to stay motivated, because I can watch TV anywhere and still use it, and I don't have to go outside in the hot California sun to work out! It's really a great machine, and a real value for the money. I used Super Saver Shipping to get mine, so I get a great workout several times a week for the price of a couple of months at the gym and without the hassle of driving somewhere just to work out. I love it, and recommend it to anyone that wants to get in shape!

 "Stamina Inmotion Ellptical" 2008-11-19
By Aya (Boston, MA)

I love this product! I had used a mini-stepper before this and it greatly surpasses the mini-stepper. Putting it together was easy and moving it around is not hard either.

I use it most often when I am watching TV and it is easy to carry from one place to another. Before I used to eat while watching TV and now I am able to enjoy a few shows a week while also getting the benefit of exercise.

People have commented on how much smaller the step is from the gym ellipticals and that is probably true but I don't feel it as a bad thing, the motion is quite nice. It can easily get my heart rate up or break a sweat. My favorite part is the core workout - there are no handles and you have to stand upright and it really works your core muscles as well. I can feel my abs the next day if I watch my posture while doing this.

The resistance can go from easy to very hard. It counts calories (without knowing your weight so I am not sure what the assumptions are here for your weight). It counts steps and miles walked as well. One complaint about the display is that it doesn't go over 9999 steps, it resets then. But it does remember your steps and miles walked for a while (a week? two weeks?).

In three words: I love it! and highly recommend it.

 "Love it!" 2008-02-29

I used to be a runner, and didn't know how I'd like this product, but it's WONDERFUl. It's easy to use, keeps track of time/calories for you, and fits anywhere!

"Perfect for knees and watching TV" 2008-02-19
By Redbutterfly

My knees love this machine. I hop on it for 30 minutes to an hour while watching tv and be the time I am done I am drenched. If you want to do more then sit and snack while watching the tube I suggest that you invest in this.

McDavid Waist Trimmer (Black, One Size)

McDavid Waist Trimmer (Black, One Size) Review. Neoprene waist trimmer with fully adjustable velcro closure compresses and supports while retaining therapeutic heat, fits up to 50" waist...

 "The best one available" 2008-06-18
By Culbertsun Incsoleil Tan (Suwanee, GA)

I have tried a number of different waist belts and this is by far the best one I have ever had. Several of the ones I have had before wore out quickly and number of them were not wide enough to cover the entire mid-section. This one is by far the strudiest and best one I have ever had over the past 10 years. I am ordering several more just in case the next time I need one I can not find this brand. Whatever you do - don't buy the belt by GoFit. It wears out in less than a month.

 "Unbelievable!" 2009-08-12
By M.LOLz (CA)

I was skeptical about this product to be honest. I've learned that when it comes to my body, to change something requires Dedication and Discipline. I had fat stored in my stomach area (even though I'm skinny 6"3 and 200lb). I used this product for 2 weeks.

I did not change my routine and I never made abdominals and had poor cardio performance. I mainly did chest, bicep, back and other main muscles. During every exercise I felt the heat i was generating in my stomach area.

I had to readjust the Trimmer 3 to 4 times in a 2 hour period because of the water I was losing.

In just 2 weeks my stomach fat was greatly reduced and my waist looks way better. My Body fat is more or less the same 18% +/-1%.

I highly recommend it!

 "So far 5 Stars" 2009-08-06
By Mr. Allnut (United States)

I did not buy this belt with huge expectations of loosing inches. Exercise and diet does that. I really wanted it because I have a condition called diatasis recti. Not serious, but it has resulted in a herniated belly button and looks terrible if I am exercising. I needed a tight, tough belt to hold everything together.

I have had this belt on all day now while working. The first belt I bought was the Bally Slimmer Belt With Zippers. I thought the zippers would make for a tight fitting belt versus the Velcro.

The Bally belt fell apart the first day. This is one is strong and sturdy. The Velcro system is fine.

 "Excellent trimmer" 2009-07-31
By R. GOLDENBERG (Bayside NY)

This is the third waist trimmer I've used and by far the best. The width is perfect and the velcro is tight...never comes loose. Gives me good support and makes me sweat!

 "Good product" 2009-07-30
By Segun O (Fresno, CA USA)

I bought this item few weeks ago and I have used it during my daily exercise routines, and i have to confess I find the product very helpful. With it I have been able to burn off some of the excess fats in my mid section area, and I have no doubt it will play a large role in helping me meeting my weight target for the year.

 "Join the Resistance" 2010-04-22
By Suzanne

There's a lot of good reasons to choose resistance bands to exercise...

-good for home workouts

-great for traveling (some gyms in hotels are just pitiful); these are very portable

-great to use with exercise videos (a lot of ex. DVD's have you use bands)

What will they do for you?

-tone your muscles

-help you burn a few calories

-make your muscles stronger

-make your bones more dense

Why choose these particular ones?

-they're pretty sturdy

-come with a door attachment

-exercise charts included

-most find the handles comfortable

-offer different bands with varying levels of difficulty

-reasonably priced

Disadvantages?

-if you look like the incredible Hulk, you're probably not going to get enough of a workout

-some might find them hard to work with

-some might not like the "feel" of them as they do an exercise

All-in-all they're a great exercise tool to use to help you get in shape, prevent injuries, or even rehabilitate one (you see these in physical therapy clinics a lot). And don't forget, once you get comfortable using a given color, move up to the next harder band if you want to keep getting stronger. Also recommend Treat Your Own Tennis Elbow if tennis elbow is interfering with your workouts.

 "Amazing portable workout gear" 2006-06-30
By SJ (CA)

This product is amazing. I recently did 5 weeks of bootcamp and we used these resistance tubes every time for biceps, chest, back and shoulders. Its amazing how effective these are and all the time you are just using your body weight. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you want. I had to get them. The green one was a little too light for me and the blue one is a little too tight for a beginner woman. Best part is you can take this lightweight exercise gear anywhere you want and have a good muscle toning workout. Think you can google up the different exercises you can do with these. Plus for the price, it is so cheap, you dont even need to think twice.

"THE most versatile, flexible, and portable fitness equipment ever made" 2008-11-25
By Andrew Chang: 7-Hour School Week and Health, Wealth, Truth (Bay Area)

Resistance Bands are THE most versatile, flexible, and portable fitness equipment ever made!

You can do any exercise, anytime, and anywhere with them. I carry my babies wherever I go.

I do them in classes, meetings, and movies.

Resistance band s is the most economical resistant equipment out there, since you can just buy a light, medium, and heavy band for all your needs. Simply combine the bands together to create different variations of intensity! Use the resistance bands with the stability ball, stability disc, and bosu balls for even greater workouts.

Just make sure you check the anchor you are wrapping the resistance band around before you do the exercise. Once, I put the resistant band on a door knob, and it slipped out and almost took out my eye. Also, check to make sure there are no tears in your resistant band. Safety first.

If you don't feel the burn after 10 repetitions, you are doing the exercise wrong. In all exercises, it is the eccentric portion of the exercise that builds muscle. Do the exercise in a smooth, controlled fashion with a 3 concentric and 6 eccentric count. Squeeze at the peak of the motion to get that extra pump.

As in all exercises, make sure to keep your wrists straight and check your posture with these seven vital points: feet hips-width apart and pointed straight ahead; knees slightly bent; pelvis at perfect middle, as if you are sitting at a bar stool; stomach tight, but not flexed; chest straight and aligned on top of ribs; shoulders parallel to ribs; and neck straight on top of body.

I've worked out at home for years, but only recently have I begun incorporating exercise bands into my strength training. I've had a few flat-type bands that have wound up getting worn and snapped over time, so I wanted to invest in a higher-quality band. Happily, this SPRI tubing perfectly fit the bill WITHOUT breaking the band! This is a very sturdy, very versatile little piece of exercise equipment. You can use it to replace weights in your usual workouts, which allows you to work your muscles in some new and unique ways (refer to the included exercise chart for ideas). When at home, you can actually use the tubing WITH your weights to add greater resistance throughout the entire muscle movement, OR you can pack your tubing with you when traveling--so light and convenient! Finally, the included door attachment is easy to use and allows you to perform an even greater variety of exercises. I wasn't sure which strength tubing to purchase, but I am an intermediate to advanced exerciser, and the medium (red) is perfect for me, as it is easy to adjust for either more or less resistance when needed. Highly recommended!

Simple way to do resistance exercise training. The door attachment easily jams in a closed door to allow the tubes to be used for top-down exercises. Despite all the hype over the fancy exerciser systems, the Xertube Resistance Bands are a great way to exercise. Easy to pack, they allow you to keep up an exercise routine while traveling.

By Ivan P. Baotic (Shelton, CT United States)

If you are really serious about hand grips, and you want something that is not your standard sport shop model, this is where to go. I got the Trainer, and for someone like myself that has been using hand grips since childhood, it was too easy. Then I got #1 and that was tuff; but I decided to get #2 and #3 as well. I have just recently graduated from #1 and using #2, and maybe in a year or more I can go to #3 and get certified.

Let me tell you this, if you can squeeze #2 at least once all the way, you are good. You can't really understand what I am trying to tell unless you get one. So if you are person that has never used hand grips regularly if at all, then go with the Trainer. If you have been using hand grips for awhile, and looking for something harder, then get the #1.

Remember to always squeeze hard!!!

 "Excellent Trainer" 2005-07-22
By J. Sprouffske (Rainier, WA USA)

I was searching for a durable quality gripper that took some power to close. I figured that I would have no problem closing the Trainer and figured I would buy the Trainer and the Level One gripper. Glad I bought the Trainer. The Level 1 is pretty tough to close and I like to do it a few times then go work on the Trainer.

As for quality like Mr. Baotic said, these are high quality. Now that I have two I want the whole set. I've heard people complain that the grips are a little rough but they don't injure you at all they are just rougher so they don't slip when you sweat. If you want a quality, durable, gripper buy from the Captain's of Crush line. I know I will never go back.

 "Excellent quality" 2005-09-21
By L. A. Olvera (Iowa)

I've been weight training for 14 years and never invested time to strength-train my hands specifically until a couple of years ago. I still had one of those typical black-handled grippers from my years in middle school and worked that much too easily. Although it did actually increase gripping power, I knew I needed to upgrade my training apparatus. After receiving the #1 gripper, I was immediately impressed by the quality construction and level of strength necessary to close just this mid-level device from Iron Mind. Because of the rather harsh knurling, I wrapped the bar I place under my four fingers with tape. I still use my easy gripper for repetitions to improve endurance and tolerance for that "burn," then go to the Iron Mind #1 for some strength-building sets. Also, I enjoy squeezing the #1 and simply holding it in a closed position for 10-30 seconds, simply maintaining focus and squeezing with more strength with each passing second. Afterwards, I may go to the light gripper and crush that thing for maybe another 50. Try it! I will order the #2 very soon.

 "Fantastic stuff!" 2005-08-02
By R. Wilson (Milwaukee, WI)

These are the grippers that got me into training my hands as hard as the rest of my body, and I can't thank Ironmind enough for making such a product. Don't waste your time with cruddy store-bought grippers that you can rep 100 times per hand straight out of the package - you're not getting any stronger with them, so why bother? Do yourself a favor, get a few Ironmind grippers and start your journey toward a fantastic crushing grip! My advice - unless you've been training hard and heavy for a few years, start with the Trainer, and even if you have been doing some hard training, start with the #1 and go from there. Anything more will almost certainly be more than you can close at the start, so begin with one, master it for a bit, and move on to the next. You won't be sorry!

Streamlight Nano Light Miniature Keychain LED Flashlight

Streamlight Nano Light Miniature Keychain LED Flashlight Review. ...

 "This thing is BRIGHT!" 2008-08-27
By T. Handley (Washington, DC)

This well-constructed little flashlight is much brighter than I expected. I bought for use inside a tent, for which it is really too bright, but it's perfect on a keychain for lighting a path or door locks. Unlike many other LED keychains, you don't have to continuously press anything to keep it on, just twist the handle 1/4 turn.

The flashlight is really solidly built and extremely lightweight. Whenever they finally give up, I'll be replacing the included LR41 batteries with SR41, which cost about the same and last longer. For what you get this flashlight is a great bargain!

Can't say anymore about how great this little keychain light is than has already been said, but HERE'S the answer for making this light stay together for you, and NOT come undone on you. Cut yourself about a 4 inch long by about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide strip of teflon tape. That's the non adhesive type of tape usually in a small plastic round container that plumbers wrap around pipe threads to prevent leaks(white in color). The tape once you cut it should wrap completely around the flashlights threads twice around. This will CURE the flashlight from coming undone on you. :-) Another trick I came up with is for all of you that have trouble loading this flashlight up with batteries. Next time, try this. When you are ready to change the batteries, carefully open the flashlight with the keychain clip facing down. Unscrew the cap (with the led in it), and set to the side. Now take the half with the keychain clip on it, with the old batteries still inside, and place it upside down on a counter top or desk top surface. Next, very carefully lift that half of the flashlight STRAIGHT UP, so that all the batteries are stacked on top of each other. This will now show you the direction in which you will now make a similar stack of batteries with 4 NEW BATTERIES. NOW, place that same half of the flashlight over the stack of new batteries and go STRAIGHT DOWN with it until it is completely over ALL the batteries (now inside the flashlight half). Carefully slide the flashlight half with the batteries inside over to the edge of the counter top or desk top, keeping the flashlight half straight up. Only allow that flashlight part to get just to the edge not past it, and now place your finger by that edge so that you can slide the flashlight half over the edge and onto your your finger. You should now have the flashlight half with the batteries inside and the batteries held in there with your fingertip. Now screw on the other half of the flashlight to it and THERE YA GO!! :-) Hope it all made sense to ya's :-) GREAT little flashlght!!!

This is the best keychain flashlight I have ever seen. It is so small I can't even tell that it's on my keys. And it's brighter than my double a maglite! Highly recommended

 "Fantastic Deal" 2008-04-22
By S. Williamson

Received one for my birthday from my instructor, and I've gotta say--I wasn't expecting this tiny little thing to put out this much light. 10 lumens doesn't sound like much, but it appears brighter than my Fenix P1D on its "Low" setting (rated 12 lumens). Mine has a slight violet tinge to the beam, which I like given that I find that it helps me find small details easily missed by normal inspections.

Construction is like that of a MagLight, milled from a solid piece of aluminum. Operation is easy, even one-handed. Feels like it could take a beating without loss of performance.

I'd give it 4.5 out of 5 stars because of the (included) unusual batteries it uses (compared to 123 batteries), but LR41 batteries aren't uncommon. Not really a detractor, though; it most likely replace my P1D for everyday use.

Final word: Great deal. Highly recommend.

 "Great little light" 2009-02-07
By Y. Liu

Just like everybody says it gives off a descent light, but remember that it is a key chain light only meant to help illuminate low lit areas like the keyhole of a door. To give you guys an idea it will illuminate a corner of an average sized bedroom. For its size this is as good as it's going to get. If you want something brighter you're going to have to settle for something a little bit bigger, with higher lumen output. The range is not great but sufficient for my purposes.

There isn't a button switch like most flashlights. Instead you have a twist switch, but you can turn it on momentarily. If you push the top of the light down, the light will turn on momentarily. If you twist the top, it will stay on constantly. I don't know if Streamlight designed it this way, but it works for me.

I have no issues operating this with one hand. Some people say it's difficult but I have no problem whatsoever. I have small hands.

It has a clip on the back that lets you easily attach and detach if need be. This is a plus for me.

I have nothing bad to say about this little light except that the batteries for this light is not as easily available as other batteries. Not a big problem for me because I just bought 50 spares online so I have them readily available.

Buy this now, you won't regret it.

Valeo Deluxe Speed Jump Rope

Valeo Deluxe Speed Jump Rope Review. Valeo's JRS Speed Jump Rope is 10 feet long, adjustable, and constructed of durable, solid rubber rope. It features molded handles with foam grips and sealed ball bearings for an even rotation....

 "Works for me!" 2008-06-09
By K. PARRISH (USA)

I saw a few complaints about adjusting the length of this rope. However, I had no issues pulling the caps off the end of the handles and did so by hand. Then I measured the length I needed - to measure a jump rope correctly, stand on the middle of the rope with both feet. The ends should come up to your armpits. There were two extra crimp bands included, so I just cut off the extra length, used a pair of small pliers to crimp the new band in place, and put the cap back on. I recommend you use a rubber band wrapped around where you think you need the crimp band first, try jumping with it for a few rotations, then put the crimp band on where the rubber band was. Too easy.

I read some of the reviews about the valeo jump rope. I should say complaints, because of the difficulty to adjust and cut and pop the top or whatever. I don't know what these people were talking about. It was simple and easy to push the rope up through the handle to make the button on the top of the handle pop off. Then you measure the tube, cut and tie. And then of course jump rope. It's great exercise that you feel, and notice right away.

This is a good Jump Rope. Rubber, I think. It's nice and heavy and has a nice swing.

It's pretty easy to adjust the length. Just in case you need a Rule of Thumb for that:

Step on the rope and hold the handles in both hands, elbows close to your body. You have the right length if your lower arms are parallel to the ground and the rope is tight. I actually leave mine a little longer.

 "Good rope, great price" 2009-02-13
By Michael G Kropman (harrisville, ri United States)

I jump an hour a day indoors, so I tend to go through ropes very quickly. I've had speed ropes snap, beaded ropes come undone at the handle, and even leather ropes wear out and break. The shelf life for a rope for me is only a few weeks, and it is very frustrating.

Skeptically, I bought 4 Valeo ropes for around $5 apiece hoping they would last a while. Amazingly, it's been a month, I'm still on my first one, and I see no wear and tear on it. At the 2 week mark, the rivet popped off, but it was due to me not fastening it tightly enough when I first adjusted the length. It took 5 minutes to fix.

Aside from its durability, I find it rather easy to adjust the height as well. All it requires is a flathead screwdriver to pop off the cap, a razor to trim the rope to desired length, and some pliers to secure the rivet.

Overall, the best rope I've bought in awhile. Since they were so cheap, I also have 3 more waiting in the wings...

"great jump rope for price" 2008-12-26
By Scott (Massachusetts)

I bought this jump rope for my twin boys. They take a Tae Kwon Do class and wanted to learn how to jump rope. I bought this product mainly for the price, but I was a little bit concerned after reading all the reviews about length adjustment. I don't get it.... If you need to adjust the length (which I did have to), there is an extra crimping ring for each side. No need for knots. You simply cut off the excess rope and crimp the second ring at the length you want. No need to uncrimp the first ring. Just discard it with the excess rope. Very easy. Great price.
